Yes you can! You can place your order online and select “Farm Pickup” at checkout to avoid paying for shipping. Once your order is placed, we will get it packed up for you and send you an email to coordinate a pickup time/date. Typically, farm pickup orders are ready for pickup within an hour!

We ship all of our meats in insulated coolers (made of Green Cell Foam) inside of cardboard shipping boxes. We use dry ice to keep your meats frozen during transit. Our insulated “Green Cell Foam” coolers are made from US-grown corn and are the most environmentally sustainable packaging material available. For more information about Green Cell Foam, click here.

We work hard to ensure every order is shipped as quickly as possible. Orders placed Monday - Thursday before 1pm, will ship the same day. Orders placed Monday - Wednesday after 1pm will ship the following business day. All orders placed from Thursday (after 1pm) - Sunday, will ship the following Monday.
**The shipping cut-off for orders with a 2-day transit time (mostly out-of-state orders) is Wednesday at 1pm**
-
All perishable orders (frozen meats) must be delivered in 48hrs to ensure the meats don’t thaw during transit. Typically, orders shipped anywhere in Texas will have a 1-day transit time. Out of state orders will ship using two-day express shipping.
-
Safety first, do not touch dry ice with your bare hands! Dry ice is -109*F which can burn your hands just like touching something that’s too hot. Always wear gloves or use tongs to pick up the leftover dry ice. You can either leave the dry ice in the cooler or set it out in a well-ventilated area to sublimate.

-
That is perfectly normal as long as your meats are still frozen. Dry ice doesn’t melt like regular ice, instead it sublimates (goes from solid, straight to gas). Dry ice begins to sublimate immediately, and typically will be gone after 24hrs.
-
Depending on the contents of your order, and how the shipping carrier handled your package (left out in the sun, or in a hot vehicle), some of the contents may begin to thaw around the outer edges. This will occasionally happen (depending on the weather) and is not a cause for concern.
Your meat is likely still safe to eat or re-freeze as long as it is still cold to the touch.
We do guarantee that our meats will be delivered frozen!
If any of your meats are completely thawed and soft throughout, contact us and we will get another box shipped out immediately (free of charge) to replace the thawed items.
General FAQ’s
-
We spent a lot of time trying to come up with a name that was both easy to remember, and “catchy”, while still having a deeper meaning behind it. So, we decided to take the first three letters of our last name (Remedios), and pair it with the number of family members, 5 (Barrett, Ashley, Brooks, Beau, and Harper) and REM5 Farms was born!
-
Special care and attention to details! We take pride in ensuring our animals are provided with the upmost care and attention throughout their lives on the farm.
We work closely with a cattle nutritionist who has formulated a high-quality custom cattle feed with fresh grain sourced from local farmers. We dry-age the entire beef carcass (not just the popular steak cuts) which adds that premium flavor and tenderness you’ll find from our meats (from steaks, all the way down to the ground beef).
Our chickens spend their lives outdoors in the pasture (not an indoor cage) where they enjoy the abundant sunshine and eat fresh green grass, bugs, and worms (as God intended). We supplement their natural diet with a specifically formulated USDA certified organic feed.
-
Our farm is in Brenham, TX (Washington County, the birthplace of Texas!). We are pretty much right in-between Houston and Austin along HWY-290.

You can follow our Instagram page here, and our Facebook page here.
We stay as active as we can on social media to give our customers a “behind the scenes” look at what goes into raising the meat they feed to their families.
We believe that consumers should have the right to see how their food is raised and cared for in the most transparent way possible.
Animal FAQ’s
-
We currently raise Black Angus cattle, Cornish-Cross chickens, and Berkshire Heritage pigs.
Black angus cattle are known for producing some of the best tasting beef money can buy. We take pride in selecting cattle with quality genetics to produce the best tasting, most tender beef possible.
Cornish-Cross chickens are also known as “broiler chickens”. They’re bred for meat production as opposed to eggs. They are fairly fast growing, do well on pasture, and produce great tasting tender chicken!
Berkshire Heritage pigs are known to produce an optimal level of fat and marbling! Other breeds of commercially raised pigs are either too fatty, or too lean, and Berkshire pigs found that sweet spot right in the middle.
-
Our cattle spend their entire lives grazing our green pastures, and eating only the grass, and hay produced from our fields. The cattle we introduce to our beef program will eat only grass until the last 120-180 days before their processing date, this time frame is known as their “finishing” time. It’s at this time, the cattle are introduced to our carefully formulated feed sourced from local farmers. The feed is offered as “free-choice” and the cattle are never kept in pens or dry-lots and forced to eat a certain diet. Instead, they have their own pasture where they continue to gaze our pasture grasses, and can choose to eat their feed if they wish (and trust me, they love it!).
We believe that using our extended finishing time, along with the use of our custom feed ration, produces the highest quality beef, with exceptional flavor, marbling, and tenderness, all while living a “grass-fed” lifestyle.
-
NO! We never give any of our animals growth-hormones or steroids. We are committed to producing 100% all-natural products even if it costs us more time/money to bring them to the proper weight for harvesting. We will never sacrifice the quality of our products for an increased production rate!
-
NEVER. The meat we sell through the REM5 brand is 100% antibiotic free from day one!
That being said, if an animal becomes sick, and is in need of antibiotics for life saving measures, we will administer therapeutic antibiotics, for the sake of keeping the animal healthy. If any antibiotics are used, that animal is immediately “red-tagged” and removed from our meat program.
Animals given antibiotics in their lifetime are perfectly safe to eat after the standard withdrawal period - but we choose to have a clear designation for our customers that all meat sold under the REM5 brand is 100% antibiotic free - guaranteed!
