About: Your Farmers
From a steady big-city job, to starting a family farm in small-town Brenham, TX. This is our story, and we can’t wait for you to be a part of it!
We are first generation farmers that left the big city lifestyle & careers and moved our family to the country. We wanted a different way of life for our kids, and to provide high-quality healthy meats for our family that we could trust.
We set out to be a trustworthy source of all-natural, humanely raised meats that are shipped directly from our family farm, right to your doorstep!
We believe that everyone should know exactly where their meat comes from, and we are passionate about raising and giving our animals the best life possible.
We use time-tested regenerative agriculture methods which ensures sustainability of our farm and allows us to continue to produce top-quality meats for generations to come!
About: Our Dry-Aged Beef
We raise all-natural Black Angus cattle with zero hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. They are pasture-raised, grass fed, grain finished.
Our cattle spend their days grazing the green pastures of Washington County, TX. To ensure sustainability of our farm, we have adopted regenerative grazing methods such as rotational grazing. Our cattle graze our pastures one paddock at a time and are moved daily to fresh forage. We closely watch their forage intake and move them before they eat the grasses too low. Moving them at the optimal time ensures we have rich lush forage for them year-round. The manure they leave behind feeds the soil and eliminates the need for fertilizers.
They always have plenty of fresh water, sunshine, and room to roam!
When it comes time to “finish” the cattle, they are moved to our finishing pasture, where they are introduced to a free-choice ration of locally sourced grains (wheat, oats, cottonseed, etc.) to enhance the flavor of the beef. Our cattle are processed at a USDA inspected facility and dry aged for 28 days, which enhances tenderness and flavor.
About: Our Chicken
Organic, Pasture-Raised Chicken
We raise Cornish Cross meat chickens. We get our chicks from a local hatchery when they are about 1 day old. They are housed in a brooder with heat lamps, fresh water, and feed for their first 2-3 weeks (until they begin to feather out). After a couple weeks in the brooder, our chickens are moved out to pasture with 24/7 access to fresh air, water, and lots of sunshine! They are housed in open-air mobile coops, that we call chicken tractors, which are moved by hand daily to fresh grass. The manure they leave behind is an excellent fertilizer that helps feed the soil and ensure we have healthy pastures for our animals. With the security of the chicken tractor (protecting them from predators) the chickens are able to forage for bugs, insects, and worms (as God intended). Our chickens are also supplemented with a USDA-Certified Organic feed that is soy-free, and non-GMO. No antibiotics are ever administered to our animals.
About: Our Pork
Pasture-Raised Pork
Our heritage breed pigs spend their days grazing our green pastures and foraging for grass, roots, acorns, etc. Unlike store-bought pork, our pigs are never kept indoors in pens, or in crowded high-stress environments, instead, they are free to roam our pastures. We rotate them one paddock at a time throughout the pasture to ensure an even spread of manure, and to ensure they don’t over-root a certain area. Like all of our animals, they are free from any growth promoting hormones, steroids, or antibiotics.
